Love Is Jello

I say, “Love is like water,”
And she says,
“No, no,
Love is jello.
It flexes, bends, it quivers.
Touch it,
It clings.
Settle too deep
It smothers.
Dive too quick,
It breaks.
Even when it is eaten up,
Residue remains.”
