Commandments

Here is what you must do:
Sleep with lions
And sleep with whales.
Part seas.
Part these
Duo-mothered sons.
Shear your empowering
Locks.
Tear blocks
From Jericho's walls.
Slay giants.
Don't look back.
Don't look back.

Pluck fruit from the tree
And crack your paling Eden:
I have paved the road with thorns
And laid brambles for your
Soul.

These are some serious demands...nicely done. Keep writing.

If you don't mind my asking, what about it made you smile? I've often wondered at the reception this piece receives.

Sleep with whales and slay giants and part seas...it's like you are asking for proof of god or someone worthy to be called god. Well thats what I took from it...I may be projecting. But that is what it makes me think of...

I think gods must be the most frustrated and misunderstood beings in the universe. And that's all I'll say about that. Smile

"Don't look back / -Don't- look back" - loved that pair of lines.

Only Old Testament references, huh? Interesting.
