Although not specifically about the Iraq War...
Bone Fragments is ranked 4th in Amazon's category for books about Iraq.
It was as high as 1st place last night, although it's dropped a bit by this morning.
It's kinda interesting, since there's only one poem in the book that specifically mentions Iraq. Although it wasn't intentional, Afghanistan ended up getting a bit more focus in the portion of the book that covers the wars in 2000-2010.
There was a second poem set in Iraq that didn't make it into the book, about people looting Saddam Hussein's palaces after the American invasion. I couldn't get the poem up to the level of quality that I felt the book needed, and eventually abandoned it. I'll pick it back up at some point, and I'd like to include it in a section of online bonus content tied to the book.
I'm also planning a series of short videos where I'll talk a little about the historical inspirations behind some of the poems in the book, including Stick-Breaker and the Hare, a poem about a pair of Russian snipers who fought in the Battle of Stalingrad in World War II.
